For Christmas 2019, I got a sketchbook to fill out for the Brooklyn Art Library. Once I turned it back in, it was suppose to be digitized and then travel around the country on display with the other sketchbooks in this collection. For more information about the Brooklyn Art Library Sketchbook Project go to this link: https://brooklynartlibrary.org/ The Project : A sky Full of DiamondsI had multiple pages of sketches and planning but I cannot find them. However, I do have photos of my sketchbook. They are not the best photos in the world because I wasn't really thinking too much about that when I took the photos. The process started when I chose the theme "A Sky Full of Diamonds" and came up with over 50 ideas for how to stick with that theme. I had to narrow it down to 32 ideas since the sketchbook is only allowed to be but so thick. I tested all of my ideas out in tiny little thumbnails and picked out what color schemes I like the best, what colors blended together better, and what ideas would make the final cut. After that, I made a list of the ideas in order and paired pages together based on what I thought would make sense. I tore the original pages out of the sketchbook since they were thin and flimsy. I cut watercolor paper to the size of the sketchbook and folded them together like how they would fit in the book. I used watercolor markers for the all of the pages and then added in details with fine point markers and white pens. Once I was done, I bound the pages to the cover and placed the sketchbook under some heavy objects to flatten it. I finished the sketchbook in April and sent it out in June.
